Excerpts from "Hyperbaric Facility Safety , 2nd Edition" by Wilbur T. Workman & J. Steven Wood, Published by Best Publishing Company

"The development and continuation of a safety program for a hyperbaric facility can be arduous. The task(s) of initiating safety procedures, employing equipment maintenance policies, and implementing employee competency standards leave the hyperbaric safety director buried in stacks of reference books, manuals, and files."

The following websites are recommended as resource for the development of the hyperbaric safety program.

UHMS - Undersea & Hyperbaric Medical Society - This site offers a wide range of information that should serve as a useful tool for the hyperbaric practitioner when seeking references or resources in the development and enhancement of the hyperbaric safety program.
UHMS Publications: UHMS Guidelines for Hyperbaric Facilities Operations 4th Edition found at BestPub.com

NFPA - National Fire Protection Association - The NFPA website has information available to both nonpaying and paying subscribers. The site includes content regarding codes dan standards, safety training opportunities, research, and public awareness.

CGA - Compressed Gas Association  - The CGA addresses safety and technical information related to the manufacture, transportation, storage, transfilling, and disposal of gasses and the containers and valve which hold compressed Gasses.

NSC - National Safety Council - The NSC is a nonprofit organization focused on the safety in the workplace, homes, and communities. The NSC website contains a vast amount of content including safety posters, safety talks, checklists, weekly safety updates, monthly safety newsletters, webinars, and podcasts.

BNA - Baromedical Nurses Association - The BNA is a nonprofit organization that was established in 1985 as a forum for hyperbaric nurses to connect, share information, and provide professionals with support. The BNA website is well organized and contains information that hyperbaric nurses, allied health, and anyone involved in daily hyperbaric operations will find useful.

WCEP - Wound Care Education Partners - Education, training, and resources for wound care and hyperbaric medicine.
