HCC Quality Policy

The Hyperbaric Certification Commission exists to validate knowledge, skills and competence in hyperbaric medicine. Our credentials are only worth what our process is worth. We therefore commit to:

Defensible standards — certification requirements, examination content and pass standards are derived from current practice, codes and evidence, and are set by qualified subject matter experts.

Fairness and impartiality — every candidate is assessed against the same published criteria. Certification decisions are free from commercial, personal and affiliate influence, and every candidate has a route to appeal.

Compliance — we meet applicable statutory, regulatory, accreditation and contractual requirements, and we protect the personal information entrusted to us.

Candidate focus — we give candidates clear requirements, timely decisions, accurate records and responsive support.

Continual improvement — we measure our performance, we treat every complaint, appeal and audit finding as information, and we improve the quality management system on the evidence.

This policy is reviewed at each management review and is communicated to all personnel, faculty and external providers acting on our behalf.
