As the industry of Hyperbaric Medicine continues to grow so does the need for developing high quality professionals dedicated to the details and betterment of the business. Developing great hyperbaric safety and training programs doesn't happen by accident. It is the product of highly skilled, experienced, hard working individuals who step forward and team up to inspire others to achieve the same standard of high performance. Today's spotlight is on a leader who does this both inside his profession and outside in life.

Derall Garrett has been certified by the National Board of Diving Hyperbaric Technology as Hyperbaric Technologist for over 25 years. He is a graduate of the College of Oceaneering with a degree as a Commercial Diver and an additional specialization as a Diver Medic.
Derall's experience spans both multiplace & monoplace chambers in freestanding clinics and hospital-based centers. He is factory-trained in both ETC and Perry Chambers. His areas of training include maintenance and repair on monoplace chambers and he has provided maintenance and repair services for companies in the United States and overseas.
During his career, Derall has conducted training programs for technicians and safety directors, written company policy and procedures, and participated in start up programs for hyperbaric and wound care centers in the United States, India, and Dubai. He has been involved in the planning, construction, and finishing stages of getting facilities operational.
Currently, Derall serves as the Hyperbaric Facility Accreditation Director for the Undersea Hyperbaric Medical Society (UHMS). You can find him teaching livestream or in person with Wound Care Education Partners: Introduction to the Role of Hyperbaric Safety Director; Introduction to Hyperbaric Medicine, and he is one of the principal faculty at HCC for the Hyperbaric Certified - Safety pathway.
Outside of work Derall continues to perform with excellence. He trades in the clean, safe environment of hyperbaric medicine for the dirty, adventurous trails of BMX racing. His work ethic and commitment to excellence has landed him a position on team USA . This summer he'll be competing in Copenhagen where, undoubtedly, we will watch Derall leading from the FRONT.
